Oh, My!! i did it! i did a chalk lettered piece....again, not wonderfully wonderful, but i like it! it was relatively easy to do, and i am ok with it. The second part of the challenge was a Layout...and i really REALLY did try to do it in CS5....but i am abysmal with that program, having had it for awhile and not ever being able to make it do what i need it to do. I fight with it more than use it and get frustrated and then stop, switch to Elements 10 or 11 and just do what i have to do there. To my credit, i do go back to CS5 when i am not frustrated and try again, until the frustration returns. i seriously need Kim classes for that program....sigh. To ease my frustration i worked this challenge out in my favorite summer beachy colors. i am SO beyond sick of winter.
The last challenge for 2BD8 was a Matte Finish shot. That was really quite fun and gave such a pretty look to the shot of the vivid blue orchid...made it so much softer. This style would fit quite nicely with the card sets that i make, and the ease of the recipe makes me inclined to use it more often.
OK....I am pretty sure that by the time i get this posted there will be a 2BD9 waiting for me, but i am so delighted that i actually finished a whole challenge on time that i am just sitting here smiling!! YAY me! i guess i do work better under pressure, as i have a ton of edit work to do, and i am in a good place with that so far too.
Hope you all have a delightful week and i look forward to perusing your shots...such fabulous inspiration for my artistic soul!!
These are sooooo fabulous! Your word are is great, your photos to die for (are you in Tracey's composition class?) and the matte photo is awesome. LOVE LOVE LOVE!
ReplyDeleteThank you! i am not in a composition class....not sure who Tracey is!! I lived my life around art as a youngster....it was my passion, other than reading. i took every class i could in high school....planned to pursue it in college....things did not go as planned, so i just kept teaching myself things and trying to learn all i could cram in. i think all the art allows me to "see in pictures' which sounds terribly odd! I "see" pictures before i ever click the shutter....like i am already viewing them before they are snapped. Quirky is probably what describes me accurately!
ReplyDeletei am now learning to "THINK in B&W", which stems from me loving mono but never quite able to achieve the things i saw some of my VERY talented flickr friends get with their mono shots. i began to query 3 friends that i felt always mesmerized me with their shots....two of them had trouble explaining why/how they did what they did....but one gave me an answer that sounded so trite, and turned out to be the best answer EVER. he simply said "I SEE in black and White". Being an artist, i think i was so smitten with color that i never thought to train myself to really SEE in B&W. i am able to do that now....been working my tail off on that for a year or more! I still err sometimes, but i have so many more good shots than bad now! I am also studying LIGHT more now....times of day and location. There is so mush more to what i am doing now than when i began this journey. I am LOVING it!
Thank you again for stopping by and commenting. i appreciate it so much!
